The 2006 Third Annual San Quintin Sportfishing Tournament was held at San Quintin, Baja California, Mexico, on Saturday, July 22, 2006.
Julio Meza did an awesome job putting together the sponsors, prizes and tournament. Barry Brightenberg of Fish Trap was a big help to Julio behind the scenes.
There were 89 boats entered and 242 anglers fishing.
The day went smoothly and the weigh-in ended at 5:00 p.m. sharp. Enrique and Concho from SAGARPA, the Mexican Fish and Game Department, did the weighing and kept the records. The scale was an IGFA certified Scalemaster II. The award ceremony took place outside at the Old Mill. The winners are as follows by category:

White Seabass: first, Jose Gusman, 24.25 kg.; second, Adan Placencia, 24.20 kg.; third, Jaime Garcia, 10.95 kg.
Dorado: first, Debbie Biedebach, 8.60 kg.; second, Francisco Quinonez, 5.65 kg.; third, Ramses Villegas, 5.00 kg.
Yellowtail: first, Ricardo Carrillo, 12.35 kg.; second, Mike Fisher, 10.25 kg.; third, Taylor Leeper, 10.25 kg.
Sandbass: first, Ted Snellen, 2.75 kg.; second, Isis Barbosa, 2.55 kg.; third, Daniel Simmons 2.50 kg.
Tuna: none caught.
