This rig uses an egg sinker allowed to slide right up to a plain live bait hook, with no swivel.
I was shown the rig by the late Big Bob Setron. At first I thought the rig was a little funny with the weight all the way down on the hook, but after using it whoa! Two very good things about the rig are first only one knot! To me, that's very important, for one knot means only one weak spot, and only one to retie after every yellow (standard rule). Second, this rig tends to take the bait with the weight to the level I wish to fish. It's like I can feel the bait with the weight as one, real deadly on the slow retrieve too. I call it fishing live Yo-Yo Iron.
