COLD SPORTFISHING WATER TEMPERATURES AT 57 TO 59 DEGREES

Jan. 8, 2006, Pete Hillis, Pedro's Pangas,, San Quintin, Baja California, Mexico:

San Quintin air temperatures have been cold, with windy evenings and mornings warming to the low 70's during the daytime hours.

Fishing water temperatures have been around 57 to 59 degrees.

The winds blew most of the week at San Quintin. They finally died down by the weekend but the damage was done. We have some cancellations due to wind and high seas. Boats that did go out fished Monday at the 15 fathom and 240 spot for limits of large rock cod and ling cod.

We hope to have a better fishing report next week.
