OFFICIAL DON EDDIE'S TOURNAMENT RULES.
Aug. 18, 2006, Sarai Garcia, Don Eddie's Landing, Official rules for the Labor Day fishing tournament:
DON EDDIE’S LANDING LABOR DAY FISHING TOURNAMENT RULES
Fishing Date: September 2, 2006.
Fishing Location: San Quintin, Baja California, Mexico.
1- All anglers in competing boats must be registered in the tournament.
2- Only registered anglers can be on the competing boat. The captain on the charter boat is excluded from entering the tournament, and cannot fish for the anglers on his boat.
3- No single angler in the competition can win all 3 prizes.
4- If one boat lands the 3 heaviest fish in the tournament there must be 3 competing anglers on the boat for all 3 prizes to be granted.
5- A morning meeting for all competing anglers will be at 5:00 AM on the days of the tournament at the lobby of Don Eddie’s hotel. All registered anglers must attend this meeting; an angler who does not show up must have prior permission from the tournament director and judges.
6- The prizes will be granted to the 3 heaviest fish captured.
7- The final weigh-in on both tournament days will be done at the set time set forth by the tournament director, at Don Eddie’s Landing
8- If any boat has mechanical problems the director of the tournament will allow one hour past the set time of the weigh-in so he can be towed in.
9- Fees are not refundable unless authorized by the tournament director.
10- The types of fish that will be competing will be informed to all competing anglers (must attend the 5 AM meeting).
11- The weight of any competing fish taken during the weigh-in is final.
12- Any competing fish, or anglers can be disqualified if there is a good reason to do so (judges will decide such action).
13- Disqualified anglers are not entitled to any type of prizes or refunds.
14- No boat may leave for the fishing grounds before the set time given at the morning meeting by the director. If this rule is not respected, it may cause a disqualification of the anglers.
15- The granting of prizes and trophies will be announced at one of the meetings
